Tumaini Build Update 01

IT’S HAPPENING.

We broke ground on our first school build recently. We finally have some progress photos back and we wanted to share with you.

Our current school build is at an orphanage in Malava, Kenya. The project consists of a brand new, two story school building. This orphanage, the Tumaini Miles of Smiles Centre is the home to over 200 young boys and girls in Kenya, East Africa. It is a beautiful piece of land that consists of an orphanage, guest home, soccer field, and an out-of-date mud hut school.

The Kenyan government has requested Tumaini build a new school to hold its students to new educational and structural regulations and standards or else it will be shut down.

After visiting Tumaini in 2017 to deliver soccer cleats, we sort of fell in love. Tumaini kids are kind, intelligent, and infectious with love. Beyond that, the founder of Tumaini is the most amazing woman we've ever met. The Tumaini community was the driving force behind the idea to found Crossbar in the first place. We are proud of the progress we've all made together thus far at Tumaini and cannot wait to see the doors of their new school open.

The school is funded through the sale of our Crossbar soccer goals and various, generous donors. Thank you to everyone who has helped us get this far. The future feels bright.
